Agadir’s main beach is one long, curved bay — about 9km of it. It’s genuinely one of the better urban beaches in Morocco, and the water is clean.

There isn’t really a “best” spot in the absolute sense — the whole beach is the same beach. But there are practical differences depending on what you want from it.

Northern end (near the marina)

A bit quieter. Fewer vendors walking the beach. Slightly more upmarket area nearby. Good if you want to escape the main tourist strip concentration and have a bit more space.

Central area

Most crowded — but in a way that’s actually enjoyable, especially on weekends when it fills up with local families. This is the heart of the beach experience. Most facilities, most nearby restaurants and beach clubs, most activity.

Southern end

Progressively quieter as you go south. Less infrastructure. Fewer beach vendors. Good for people who want space and quiet.

Practical notes

The water is cold in winter (Atlantic, not Mediterranean — you have been warned). The beach gets genuinely crowded on weekend afternoons with local families, which is actually one of the best things about it — very real, very Agadir. The wind picks up significantly in the afternoon, especially in summer. Morning is the best time to be on the beach in summer.

There are beach clubs and facilities along the central stretch. Sunbeds are rented, the beach itself is free.
