Agadir has a lot of accommodation options, but they’re not all created equal — and the location matters more than you might think.
The beach zone (Secteur Balnéaire)
Most tourists stay here, along the beach road. It’s convenient — you’re walking distance to the beach, and there’s plenty of restaurants and shops around. But it can feel a bit generic and resort-y. The area was developed for tourism and it shows. If you want to feel like you’re in Morocco rather than a beach resort, consider staying slightly further from the main tourist strip.
That said, for a short beach holiday, this zone works perfectly well. You’re not going to suffer by staying here — it’s just not the full picture of what Agadir is.
City centre (Talborjt and Nouveau Talborjt)
More local feel. Cheaper. Better access to real cafes, local markets, and everyday Agadir. You’ll eat better and cheaper here. Less walking distance to the beach, but easy by petit taxi (5-10 minutes).
What to actually book
There are good riads, apartments, and hotels at various price points. Airbnb has decent options, particularly for self-catering stays of a week or more. Booking.com is well-represented. For budget stays, the city centre has some solid guesthouses.
For longer stays (a month or more as a remote worker), renting a furnished apartment directly is significantly cheaper than any hotel or Airbnb. Facebook groups and local property websites are the places to look.
